Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry with her hard work and versatile performances. One of the most-sought after actors from his generation, he makes his presence known everywhere from the big-screens to the small screens. Having a hoard of brand endorsements, he recently starred in one of the advertisements that has now landed him in big legal trouble.

According to a report by BollywoodShaadis, he was recently a part of an advertisement by the retail brand Flipkart. The advertisement informed the social media users of its The Big Billion Days’ sale. Now, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has put forth a complaint against the veteran for engaging in a misleading advertisement . As per the tweet by the Secretary General of CAIT, the advertisement states that deals and discounts for mobile phones are only available on the online retail platform and on retail stores. The CAIT has also imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakhs for spreading factually incorrect news. The advertisement has led to a mixed reaction from the internet users. Many called out the retail brand and the 80-year-old actor from trying to hurt small businesses with their advertisement. Flipkart and Bachchan are yet to comment on the matter. One wrote, “Shri @SrBachchan Ji, STOP HURTING SMALL BUSINESSES! You are the greatest showman of Bharat, which also means you have tremendous responsibility towards the nation and the citizens.
